July Monthly Review + Annoucement

Happy end of July!!!
"Wait a second...it's only the 23rd...why are you doing a monthly review post?" Well...we are going on a trip...and I'll be gone...and so I'm doing it early. Make sense? ;D Anyway...here we go ;)

ADVENTURES.

// Singing at a nursing home and getting to talk and meet so many kind older people

// Learning many, many good/hard lessons ;)

// Watching huge fireworks shoot up into the sky with friends

// Having a bunch of international students over and getting to build friendships as well as have lots of fun!

// Reading many great books!

// Lots of fun with family... like laughing til I fell on the floor ;)

BOOKS.

I read a total of 9 books so far this month. I enjoyed most of them and look forward to reading more books in August!

Books Read:9

Most of these books were really good! My favorite was probably Get Lost though. It was such a good book! My least favorite was definitely Heaven is For Real as I'm pretty uncertain if it's a true story or not. So..anyway...that's what I've been reading this month! I'm currently reading:

and

So far they have been great! =)

BLOGGING.

Lots of great posts this month! On another note I found a new blog which I am absolutely loving. You should totally go check it out and subscribe. ;) Here is the link. She posts many writing posts, challenges, bookish type posts...yeah. It's a fun blog! Here are some other great posts...

-"When We Feel Unworthy of Being Loved" by Amanda Beguerie

-"Time: A Poem" by Emily

-"Miracles Still Happen Today" by Hosanna Emily

And Girl Defined has had some really good posts and videos recently so check out their blog. =)

If you happened to miss any of my other blog posts this month here are some links:

COMING UP.

This is where the announcement part comes in. I've made the decision not to post in August. We'll be on our trip for half of it and then starting school and having some overseas friends. That will be extremely crazy and I think it will be best if I don't post until September. I'll miss you all so much though and look forward to getting back to blogging in September! I hope you all have a fantastic August and end of July!!! =)

How has your July been so far? What has been your top favorite highlight of the month? I would love to hear it!

  2. You did have me worried that the month was already over! Sounds like you had some good adventures - singing and chatting at nursing homes is always a blessing, in my experience anyway.

I noticed you read a book by Bodie & Brock Thoene - have you read any of their other books? I've heard their names a lot, but haven't read any of their books yet!

Anyway, we'll miss you, but enjoy your break! :)

    1. Yes, I would have been worried as well! ;) And YES, singing at nursing homes blesses me just as much as it blesses them. It's wonderful to serve people knowing that they won't be able to give you anything in return.

Yes, I've read quite a lot of the Brock and Bodie books! Well...actually my mom reads them to me and my brother at night. ;) They are super good, but have a few graphic parts that my mom skips. I don't know how much violence you read in books, but just to warn you there are few spots with graphicness. Overall though I really, really love them!!!

Aw, I'll miss you too Jessica, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the break as well. =)

      Thank you for commenting!!

Thank you for all your comments, Emily! Love you!

  4. Whew, you had me scared for a sec there. I saw “Happy end of July!!!” and thought, “Nooooooo…July can’t be over!!!” Had to check my calendar :P

Singing at a nursing home sounds really fun! I’m sure the people there really enjoyed it! :)

Oh, is the book “Heaven is For Real” the same one that the movie “Heaven is For Real” based off of? I saw the second half of the movie a few years ago and it was a little . . . weird. It said it was based on a true story, but … yeah. I don’t believe it’s actually true.

“The Bronze Bow”! Isn’t it an awesome book? I love pretty much anything by Elizabeth George Speare. She’s a really good author :)

To answer your questions, July has been great so far! And one of my top favourite highlights was meeting you . You have seen (or virtually know ;)) some of my friends, and you’re in Landry, and you blog, and - and - my mind is blown =D I mean, it's SO exciting!! I’ve also really enjoyed your blog and you can count on my sticking around ;)

I hope you have a great trip and can’t wait to hear back from you in September! :)

    1. Blessing!!! This comment totally made my day! =) I LOVE long comments like yours! :)

And yes, singing at the nursing home is so wonderful! Sometimes I feel like I don't want to go on the inside, but always after I'm so blessed. The people there are really sweet. :)

Yep, I'm pretty sure that the movie is based off the book! Yeah...I'm not sure if it's true or not either. ;(

Yes, "The Bronze Bow" is wonderful so far! I'm not very far into it though. :) I'm going to use Overdrive on our trip so that I can listen to a bunch of audio books on our tablet. That will be SO fun! =)

Awww, that was a highlight for me too!!! I was just amazed how God worked it out for me to find your blog...then to click your monthly highlights page...then to recognize you had been to the N.C. camp...then to hear that you met some of my close friends. Wow, wow! God is so amazing, isn't he? =) And thank you!! I look forward to reading more of your posts as well!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Blessing for your sweet, sweet comment!!! <3 :)

  5. Wonderful post, Hannah!!
Aw, you're gonna leave blogosphere for the month of August? *sobs* Oh, well. Life is more important. That's hard for me to remember, sometimes. :)
Oooh! I've read 'Heaven is for Real' and I've watched the movie. I think the book was better. What's your opinion (if you have watched the movie)?
The top highlight of July...probably walking in the Fourth-of-July parade. That was tons of fun! =)
Have a wonderful August, and safe travels!

    1. Thank you so much, Ariel!

Yes...*sobs because I'm going to miss you guys so much*. It was a little struggle to give it up for a month, but I realized it would be stressful for me and I needed to just be "all there" on our trip with my family and friends. =)

I actually haven't watched the movie! The book was well written I just am so uncertain if it's true or not. Do you have any thoughts???

Ooooh, how fun!!! We walked in a homecoming parade not too long ago and that was really fun as well. I love parades for the most part! =)

Thank you, I hope you have an amazing August as well!

  7. I had reading about your July, Hannah! :)
That’s so great that you got to go sing and visit and a nursing home. The people who live there really love it when people come do stuff like that. :) Some of my family and I and some friends go to a nursing home once a month and visit. I play my violin there too with my brother.
Have a great vacation! I’ll ‘see’ you in September!
I’ve had a great July too. :) I’m hoping to do a July highlights post sometime today or at least tomorrow. :)

Thank you! It's been great so far. :) I'll have a post about my summer when we get back. =) Can't wait to get back to blogging!

And that is awesome! I'll definitely have to check out your highlights post. =)

Thank you for your comment, sweet girl!
